Overview

Manages and organizes the manufacturing operation.  Plans the use of facilities, equipment, and employees to meet current and future manufacturing requirements and maintains uninterrupted production, product quality and quantity.

Responsibilities

  • Manages 7 direct reports.
  • Reviews production orders or schedules to ascertain product data such as types, quantities and specifications of products and scheduled delivery dates in order to plan department operations.
  • Plans production operations, establishing priorities and sequences for manufacturing products.
  • Prepares and manages manning plan to staff production operations.
  • Prepares operational schedules and coordinates manufacturing activities to ensure production and quality of products meet specifications.
  • Reviews production and operating reports and resolves operational, manufacturing and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.
  • Inspects machines and equipment to ensure specific operational performance and optimum utilization.
  • Develops and revises standard operational and working practices and observes workers to ensure compliance with standards.
  • Resolves worker grievances or submits unsettled grievances to Human Resource department to action.
  • Compiles, stores, and retrieves production data.
  • Must be able to fulfill any and all customer requirements associated with the position.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (B.S.M.E.) from four-year college or university. Ten years relevant experience and minimum three to five years related managerial experience in a manufacturing environment. MBA preferred.
  • Strong managerial skills with ability to interface with internal and external customers and senior management.
  • Display independent judgment and initiative.
  • Excellent analytical and general business skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills.
  • Five or more years of experience in manufacturing field.
  • Must have strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Standing and walking up to 50% of work time.
  • Must be willing to travel, maximum of 5%.
