Overview

Verifies that product is acceptable to customer and internal requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Inspects manufactured and/or purchased parts, tools and gages and completed components using gages.
  • Knows well and uses established company quality control procedures.
  • Must be able to troubleshoot machines and gages.
  • Ability to both read and understands both English and metric systems for measurement.
  • Performs gage capability studies on equipment used during Receiving Inspection (RI).
  • Operates measurement equipment for critical dimensions and performs layouts.
  • Uses computers to collect and analyze data. (working knowledge of MS Office Suite – Word / Excel)
  • Advises area supervision of any deviation from established criteria
  • Validates processes to determine if they are making good product. And stop and contain material if non-conforming.
  • Maintains and improves product quality by completing audits.
  • Troubleshoots machines and gages.
  • Completes part measurement analysis.
  • Completes machine qualifications, process capability studies and R&R studies
  • Assists with maintaining incoming documentation from suppliers (certs, heat-treat charts, etc.)
  • Observes all safety and health regulations. Promotes safety throughout the organization.
  • Must communicate with peers, superiors, and supervisors in a clear and professional manner. Communication may take the form of written, e-mail & other electronic files, or verbal techniques.
  • Follows housekeeping procedures in maintaining a neat and orderly work area adhering to 5S principles.

 

Qualifications

 

  • Required computer skills needed to perform analysis work using MS excel and MS word
  • Measurement experience preferred
  • Must be able to understand and follow written and spoken instructions in English.
  • Must be able to perform close visual work.
  • Must have solid math familiarity, including a good understanding of fractions, decimals and the Metric System.
  • Must be capable of lifting 40 pounds.
  • Hourly Flexibility – Available to achieve tasks with extra hours when required
  • Must be able to work overtime and weekends as required.
  • Must be reliable and on time.
  • Must be able to work independently and efficiently.  
  • High school diploma or equivalent 
  • Must be able to work 2nd shift (2:30pm - 10:30pm)

Experience:

  • Prefer minimum of 1 year experience in Quality Control or Quality Assurance in a manufacturing environment.
