Verifies that product is acceptable to customer and internal requirements.
Responsibilities
Inspects manufactured and/or purchased parts, tools and gages and completed components using gages.
Knows well and uses established company quality control procedures.
Must be able to troubleshoot machines and gages.
Ability to both read and understands both English and metric systems for measurement.
Performs gage capability studies on equipment used during Receiving Inspection (RI).
Operates measurement equipment for critical dimensions and performs layouts.
Uses computers to collect and analyze data. (working knowledge of MS Office Suite – Word / Excel)
Advises area supervision of any deviation from established criteria
Validates processes to determine if they are making good product. And stop and contain material if non-conforming.
Maintains and improves product quality by completing audits.
Troubleshoots machines and gages.
Completes part measurement analysis.
Completes machine qualifications, process capability studies and R&R studies
Assists with maintaining incoming documentation from suppliers (certs, heat-treat charts, etc.)
Observes all safety and health regulations. Promotes safety throughout the organization.
Must communicate with peers, superiors, and supervisors in a clear and professional manner. Communication may take the form of written, e-mail & other electronic files, or verbal techniques.
Follows housekeeping procedures in maintaining a neat and orderly work area adhering to 5S principles.
Qualifications
Required computer skills needed to perform analysis work using MS excel and MS word
Measurement experience preferred
Must be able to understand and follow written and spoken instructions in English.
Must be able to perform close visual work.
Must have solid math familiarity, including a good understanding of fractions, decimals and the Metric System.
Must be capable of lifting 40 pounds.
Hourly Flexibility – Available to achieve tasks with extra hours when required
Must be able to work overtime and weekends as required.
Must be reliable and on time.
Must be able to work independently and efficiently.
High school diploma or equivalent
Must be able to work 2nd shift (2:30pm - 10:30pm)
Experience:
Prefer minimum of 1 year experience in Quality Control or Quality Assurance in a manufacturing environment.
