Verifies that product is acceptable to customer and internal requirements.
Responsibilities
Inspects manufactured and/or purchased parts, tools and gages and completed components using Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3 gages.
Knows well and uses established company quality control procedures including statistical process control (SPC).
Ability to both read and understands both English and metric systems for measurement.
Performs gage capability studies on equipment used during Receiving Inspection (RI).
Operates CMM for critical dimensions and performs layouts using various layout gages.
Uses computers to collect and analyze data. (working knowledge of MS Office Suite – Word / Excel )
Advises area supervision of any deviation from established criteria
Validates quality processes by establishing product specifications and quality attributes; measuring production; documenting evidence; determining operational and performance qualification
Maintains and improves product quality by completing product, company, system, compliance, and surveillance audits; investigating customer complaints; collaborating with other members of management to develop new product and engineering designs, and manufacturing and training methods.
Prepares quality documentation and reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends including failed processes, stability studies, recalls, corrective actions, and re-validations.
Completes machine qualifications, process capability studies and R&R studies
Assists with maintaining incoming documentation from suppliers (certs, heat-treat charts, etc.)
Observes all safety and health regulations. Promotes safety throughout the organization.
Must communicate with peers, superiors, and supervisors in a clear and professional manner. Communication may take the form of written, e-mail & other electronic files, or verbal techniques.
Follows housekeeping procedures in maintaining a neat and orderly work area adhering to 6S principles.
Qualifications
Must be able to work overtime and weekends as required
Must be able to work 2nd shift (2:30pm-10:30pm) and occasional 3rd shift (10:30pm-6:30am)
Required computer skills needed to perform analysis work using MS excel and MS word
CMM Measurement experience preferred
Must be able to understand and follow written and spoken instructions in English.
Must be able to perform close visual work.
Must have solid math familiarity, including a good understanding of fractions, decimals and the Metric System.
Must have solid familiarity with blueprints, process sheets and related information.
