Operates multiple machines and does setup as directed by supervisor with assistance of set-up if needed, using blueprints, sequencing boards to determine job running order, IPK guidelines, documented quality procedures, work instructions, set-up and operating procedures, tool charts, gauges, etc.-works to close tolerance, selects speeds and feeds and makes necessary control adjustments to complete or maintain a setup, and to recognize machine trouble and make appropriate adjustments.
Responsibilities
Responsible for all incidental activities needed to keep the machine(s) running quality production at an efficient level
Feeds and lubricates machines and is able to make required adjustments.
Operators are responsible for reworking/sorting nonconforming work, as needed, on a day to day basis
Loads and unloads parts as required
Able to recognize malfunctions and make appropriate adjustments
Performs other miscellaneous duties such as, but not limited to, tumbling, sandblasting, induction hardening as assigned by supervisor
Performs miscellaneous items per blueprint, routing, and quality manual
May be assigned to preventative maintenance duties or assist in repairs within the department
Responsible for decision as to quality and finish
Assures that proper gages and procedures are being implemented in production, final inspection and reports any missing gauges to the supervisor
Reports non-conformances to supervisor of department.
Calculates and maintains accurate statistical quality control records as part of the in-process and final audit requirements.
Inspects parts (packs as directed) and any other incidental activities as required
May be assigned to inspect for defects while packing product
Responsible for collection, labeling and material handling of hazardous waste (see Contingency plan for training requirements)
Responsible for completing all required quality inspection and documenting on the proper operator check sheet.
Operates all production, inspection and automation equipment within the department
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED
Must be able to lift 55lbs.
Standing and walking up to 80% of work time.
Knowledge of S.P.C., computer skills and experience on transfer and progressive tooling is a must.
