- Perform troubleshooting, diagnosis, and repair of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues in industrial machinery and equipment, such as conveyor systems, motors, pumps, compressors, and production line equipment.
- Conduct routine preventive maintenance inspections to identify and address potential equipment malfunctions, worn components, and operational inefficiencies.
- Utilize various tools, instruments, and diagnostic equipment to analyze and troubleshoot machinery problems and determine appropriate repair methods.
- Disassemble, repair, and reassemble mechanical components, including replacing or repairing defective parts, bearings, gears, belts, and seals.
- Test machinery and equipment after repairs or maintenance to ensure proper functioning and identify any remaining issues.
- Collaborate with production and maintenance teams to prioritize and schedule repairs, minimizing downtime and maximizing productivity.
- Document all maintenance and repair activities, including work performed, parts used, and any additional recommendations or observations.
- Follow safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment and minimize risks associated with machinery repairs.
- Assist in the installation and setup of new machinery and equipment as needed.
- Holds a journeyman’s card for Machine Repair or 8 years experience
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certification in industrial maintenance or a related field is highly desirable.
- Proven experience as an Industrial Machine Repairman/Technician, preferably in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and a comprehensive understanding of industrial machinery, components, and systems.
- Proficiency in diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues in machinery.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, diagrams, and schematics.
- Good knowledge of safety protocols and procedures related to machinery repair and maintenance.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with team members and other departments.
- Physical stamina and the ability to work in physically demanding environments, including standing, bending, and lifting heavy objects.
- Flexibility to work in different shifts and respond to emergency repairs when necessary.
