  • Overview

    Supervises a segment of manufacturing to meet production or support schedules through effective utilization of resources.

    Responsibilities

    Specific:

     

    1. Supervises 35 to 50 employees. Is ultimately responsible for personnel, cost, delivery schedules and operation within assigned areas.   

               

    1. Coordinates and implements "team" concept among personnel in assigned areas.

     

    1. Responsible for reviews, reprimands and requisitions.

     

    1. Responsible for recommending required staffing, hiring, promotions, transfers, discipline, performance evaluations, implement training within assigned areas.

     

    1. Acts as Liaison between Superintendent and assigned workforce to keep Senior Management informed. Maintains highest possible level of employer and employee relationships. 

     

    1. Coordinates and directs the continuous improvements processes, 5S, safety and lean manufacturing techniques to achieve business goals within assigned area.

     

    1. Motivates others to identify and eliminate problems that must be corrected, and encourages the flexibility necessary for the continuous improvement process to adapt to changing priorities and evolve along with the organization.

     

    1. Interprets and enforces departmental and company policies and procedures in a fair and unbiased manner.

               

    1. Help to promote individual responsibility for safety throughout the plant. 

     

    1. Solves problems involving workflow, utilization of personnel skills, machines and facility to ensure an efficient and expedient manufacturing process.

     

    1. Responsible for controlling overtime costs.

     

    1. Establishes and enters employee’s work schedules.

     

    1. Verifies and approves employee’s time cards.

     

     

                               14.  Performs miscellaneous related duties and carries out special projects as assigned.

    Qualifications

    Education:      

     

    1. High School Diploma minimum required. Associate Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience in manufacturing preferred.

     

    1. Certification in Six Sigma at the Green Belt level preferred.

     

     

    Experience:    

                                1.  Prefer five or more years of experience in manufacturing field.

    1. Must have strong communication and interpersonal skills.

     

                                3.  Must be able to work on an off-shift (Monday - Friday; overnight shift)
