    Human Resources Manager, Tennessee Operations

    GT Technologies, a premier manufacturer of valvetrain actuation components and assemblies for use in a wide range of internal combustion engines, is looking for an experienced Human Resources Manager, based in its Hendersonville, Tennessee Plant.  GT Technologies is a Tier-1 supplier to multiple OE automotive manufacturers.  This facility was recently acquired by GT Technologies and was formerly known as the Betty Machine Company.   

     

    SUMMARY

    Plans and administers policies relating to all phases of human resources activity by performing the following duties personally or through others.  The Hendersonville, Tennessee facility is a non-union manufacturing plant employing around 20 salaried and 75 hourly employees. 

    Responsibilities

    QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Reviews, recruits, interviews, tests, and selects employees to fill vacant positions
    • Keeps records of benefits plans participation such as insurance and pension plan, personnel transactions such as hires, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, and terminations, and employee statistics for government reporting
    • Coordinates management training and advises management in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues
    • Administers performance reviews and salary administration programs to ensure effectiveness, compliance, and equity within organization
    • Oversees benefits programs such as life, health, dental and disability insurances, pension plans, vacation, sick leave, leave of absence, and employee assistance
    • Conducts wage surveys within labor market to determine competitive wage rate
    • Oversees general safety policies and procedures to be followed by company or plant personnel in compliance with local, state, and federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) rules and regulations
    • Responsible for reward, awards, recognition and incentive programs
    • Oversees Workers Compensation compliance
    • Consults legal counsel to ensure that policies comply with federal and state law
    • Oversees all terminations and disciplinary actions
    • Participate in operations strategy as a member of the plant manager’s leadership team
    • Oversees quality and environmental audits for the plant
    • Responsible for training and monitoring of 5S activities

    Qualifications

    SKILL SPECIFICATIONS

    • Knowledge and Experience with payroll and timekeeping systems
    • Good computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint software (Office 365 suite)
    • Knowledge of Government policies and regulations (FMLA, COBRA, Payroll, HIPPA)
    • Knowledge and Experience in federal and Tennessee state regulations
    • Good computer oral and written communication skills
    • Strong managerial skills with ability to interface with all employees – from senior management to the shop floor associates
    • Display independent judgment and initiative and a positive attitude
    • Willingness to “roll up sleeves” and complete a variety of hands-on tasks

     

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

    • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; and five years related experience in a manufacturing environment
    • Professional HR certification preferred
    • Experience in a non-union manufacturing environment is preferred
