  • Overview

    GT Technologie, Toledo Plant is a metal stamping manufacturing plant supplying automotive customers such as Ford, GM, Audi, Chrysler and Volkswagen.  We are seeking a Quality Layout Technician to test and inspect products at various stages of the production process.  Compiles and evaluates statistical data to determine and maintain quality and reliability of products by performing the assigned duties.

    Programs CMM

    Ability to interpret engineering drawings, or formulas

    Confers with management or engineering staff to determine quality and reliability standards

    Performs Dimensional analysis using Manual & DCC – CMM, optical comparator and other lab instruments

    Performs layouts on CMM, Cordax and other instruments

    Writing and updating of documents to meet IATF requirements

    Knowledge to participate in APQP team and develop, control plan PFMEA, process flow chart, gage plan, production trial runs, capability studies machine studies, gage R&R’s

    Revisions of charts, Control Plans, FMEA’s and Flow Charts as required

    Responsible for document change control

    Perform statistical studies & data entry for charts, graphs, capability studies

    Write concise, complete and legible reports following analysis

    Check and verify all incoming parts

    Ability to disposition non-conforming product

    Good problem-solving skills using internal action matrix or formal customer corrective action

    Selects products for tests at specified stages in production process, and tests products for variety of qualities such as dimensions, performance, and mechanical characteristics

    Perform Systems Audits           

    Perform Layered Process Audits

    Lead measurement analysis per MSA manual

    Lead containment activities

    Maintenance, troubleshooting, and calibration of gaging systems as needed

    Leadership ability on a daily basis

    Train operators, die makers, and production managers in use of gaging systems on shop floor

    Good Customer/Vendor communication skills

    Good computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Mini-tab, Access, Gage-Pack, Visio, CMM software, and statistical programs

    Cover absences when necessary



    A Journeyman's card in Quality Layout or certification of having completed a U.S. Department of Labor recognized apprenticeship as a Quality Layout Inspector, along with the successful completion of at least 2 Community College courses and a minimum of 2 years related experience.
